If you are looking for something different this weekend, why not step back into Victorian Bradford and discover one of the city's most fascinating historic landmarks?
From 10:30am tomorrow, the team at Undercliffe Cemetery will be leading a guided walk through this remarkable Grade II* listed cemetery, bringing to life some of the extraordinary people and events that helped shape Bradford's history.
The tour explores the stories of individuals from every walk of life, from wealthy industrialists and philanthropists to ordinary working people whose lives became part of Bradford's remarkable story. It is a unique opportunity to experience history where it happened.
This special walk will also feature the infamous 1858 Bradford "Humbug Billy" poisonings, one of Britain's greatest Victorian tragedies. Along the route you will hear about many of the key figures involved, including:
William Hardaker ("Humbug Billy")
Felix Rimmington
Dr Charles Bell
Joseph Moulson
The Justice of the Peace who presided over the magistrates' proceedings
Two of the confirmed victims of the tragedy
Standing beside the graves of those involved brings a unique perspective that simply cannot be gained from reading history alone.
I will also be attending throughout the morning to help with the tour, meet visitors, answer questions about the research behind The Bradford Poisonings – When Sweetness Turned to Death, and sign copies of the book for anyone who would like one.
Everyone is welcome.
Admission is just £10, payable on the day inc refreshments.

Whether you have an interest in Victorian crime, Bradford's rich industrial heritage, local genealogy, or simply enjoy discovering the stories hidden within historic places, this promises to be a memorable morning.
I hope to see many of you there.
